This midnight owl reduction linoprint looks crisp and clean when pressed using the vintage Albion press at Northern Print.

The three layers of blue give the image a wintery nighttime feel.

Midnight Owl reduction linocut
A reduction linocut course at Northern Print gave me the opportunity to use layers of cutting and printing to build up an image.
Hand pressing the print gave a beautifully textured image, while their wonderful vintage Albion Press gave a much more defined image.
I chose an owl looking for prey below as I wanted to explore adding texture on feathers using the linocut.
The three shades of blue gave the image a wintery midnight feel which I love.
